SALIENS - Terms of Use

1. Operator and application

SALIENS (formerly OI GEO Autopilot) is operated by Oxford Intelligence Limited for its publishing operations, including The Other Book, and authorised client progress reporting. These terms govern authorised use of the application. SALIENS administration and publishing controls remain restricted to the authorised owner; client accounts receive access only to their assigned organisations.

2. YouTube terms

The application uses YouTube API Services. By using its YouTube features, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms. Google and YouTube operate their services independently of Oxford Intelligence Limited. This application is not endorsed or certified by Google or YouTube.

3. Authorised access

Use the workspace only if Oxford Intelligence Limited has authorised you to do so. Keep your company account and multi-factor authentication secure. Connect only a Google account that is authorised to manage the intended channel. Grant YouTube access through Google's OAuth consent process; do not provide your Google password to this application.

The current integration requests youtube.readonly for channel verification and upload-status checks, and youtube.upload for the private upload test. Connecting an account does not itself initiate a video upload.

4. Upload control and current limits

The current YouTube feature allows the authorised owner to preview and initiate one prepared 44-second test video upload to The Other Book channel. The test uses Private visibility and disables subscriber notifications. Repeating the test action checks or resumes the same upload. Public publishing, scheduling and general-purpose video uploads are not currently enabled.

Review the video, title, description, target channel and stated visibility before initiating the test. Use YouTube Studio at https://studio.youtube.com to manage the uploaded video and the wider channel features. Processing time and availability depend on YouTube. A successful private test is not approval for public API uploads.

5. Content and acceptable use

You retain your rights in content you provide and must hold the rights and permissions needed to upload it. You authorise Oxford Intelligence Limited to process and transmit that content only for the operations you request. Review AI-assisted text, synthetic narration, captions and any required disclosures before upload.

Do not use the application for unlawful content, infringement, impersonation, spam, misleading metadata, artificial engagement or attempts to evade platform safeguards or quota restrictions. Applicable YouTube rules continue to apply.

6. Privacy and disconnecting

Read the application's privacy notice at https://geo.oxfordintelligence.co.uk/integrations/youtube#privacy for the data accessed, its use, storage and deletion arrangements. Google's handling of information is described at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Use Disconnect and delete YouTube data to erase the local channel grant and retained YouTube metadata and request revocation at Google. Access can also be revoked at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting does not delete an uploaded video from YouTube, and an upload already in progress may finish. 7. Availability and suspension

The application is provided for authorised operational use and client progress reporting. Service availability, platform processing, continued API access and audit approval are not guaranteed. Oxford Intelligence Limited may restrict or suspend access to protect the service, address misuse, perform maintenance or respond to platform requirements. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes and contact

Material changes to these terms or the purposes for which Google user data is used will be communicated before the changed features are used, with additional consent sought where required. Questions about these terms or the application's privacy practices can be sent to info@theotherbook.io.

9. Client portal data and service scope

The client portal records the email address authorised by your project lead, the verified OI account identifier, organisation membership, access role and membership timestamps. It uses a necessary session cookie for sign-in. Password and authenticator verification are handled by the existing OI account service; the SALIENS portal does not store your password or authenticator secret.

We use membership records to provide the requested reporting service and protect client information. Authorised OI administrators manage access. Members can see projects in their assigned organisation; only client leads can see its agreed commercial fees. Hosting and account service providers process the information needed to deliver those functions. Portal membership does not grant access to OI publishing controls or other client organisations.

Revoking access prevents subsequent project reads but does not automatically erase records. Service and membership records are retained for the relevant engagement and for documented contractual, accounting or security needs. The client agreement sets the applicable data-processing and retention arrangements. The portal is intended for business progress reporting; do not supply student application files or sensitive personal data through reports without a separately agreed data scope.

For client account corrections, access or deletion requests, processing concerns or a privacy complaint, contact michael.hu@oxfordintelligence.co.uk. We assess requests under applicable data protection law and the client agreement. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. The separate YouTube privacy notice continues to govern the Google integration.

Service packages, delivery limits, fees and any setup credits are agreed in a separate written order. Displaying a proposal or recording a service plan does not charge a payment method or issue an invoice. OI portfolio service fees may be zero with separate internal cost allocation. AI inclusion, citations, rankings, enquiries and revenue are not guaranteed.
